Houston, Texas is a community that is noted for a wonderful sisterhood of belly dance performers and instructors. Sundari began the journey of belly dance in 1998 and fell in love with the culture and art of this dance and continues to pursue training of this art.
She had the great pleasure of study with her “Dance Mom”, the legendary Shakira Massood-Ali for over seven years. In addition, she has participated in dance workshops with Ansuya, Aziza, Camelia, Cassandra, LaUra, Helenda, Leila Gamal, Sherena, Valerick and Ruby. Sundari attributes the training and professional ethics of these ladies as an inspiration of her dance journey and a significant influence to her style and interpretation of the heritage of this Middle Eastern Dance.
Sundari Ali promotes her passion of the culture and rich history through teaching belly dance. Her students learn the techniques as she teaches the enchanting movements of this beautiful dance and embracing the meaning of the art of belly dancing. Sundari conceives the ancient movements of this art will liberate your soul, enhance an awareness of self, and the power of feeling feminine, beautiful and entertaining.
